How to move /tmp to another partition

Symlinking can be used but fstab can be altered to bind mount:

Make you home/tmp folder and change it's permission and ownership:

sudo chown root /home/tmp
sudo chgrp root /home/tmp
sudo chmod 1777 /home/tmp

Alter /etc/fstab to include the following:

/home/files/tmp  /tmp  none  defaults,bind  0  0
