Reset Folder association in Ubuntu 10.10

You find that opening folders in applications other the Nautilus opens with the last thing you associated folders with - e.g. you music player, and you cannot alter the association.  To return things to normal:

sudo gedit ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

Find the line

inode/directory=

Add the entry

nautilus-folder-handler.desktop;

The line may have many items on it but which ever comes first after the = sign is the application that will launch by default.
